Guy Starving for Attention Changes Name to ‘Bacon Double Cheeseburger’
Something about this guy's new name is not quite kosher.
A British man born with the very British and very boring ol' name Simon Smith decided to spice things up by changing it to Bacon Double Cheeseburger.
According to Britain's Mirror, the 33-year-old said, "A name is the least important part of your personalty -- it's given to you by someone else. Bacon Double Cheeseburger was the first name I came up with." Call us crazy, but maybe he should've thought of some other names. Chili Dog. Pulled Pork Sandwich. Atomic Buffalo Wings. All are good alternatives, right?
Mr. Cheeseburger (or B.D. to his closest friends) is merely one of 85,000 people who swapped names in the country last year.
And while he may be pleased as punch -- or, more accurately, the ice cold brewski that goes down with his new namesake -- not everyone is on-board with his decision.
His fiancée, Isabella, reportedly will not be known as Mrs. Double Cheeseburger. Could that be a deal-breaker? Religion, desire to have kids, a need to move -- all are reasons to break up. Let's hope changing his name to something carnivorous isn't added to that list. And let's really hope the soon-to-be missus doesn't give being a vegetarian a try anytime soon, either.
Cheer up, Isabella. At least he didn't go totally off the deep end and change his name to something that an asthmatic would have a time saying without getting winded.
