It's time to take a trip back to the Hundred Acre Woods for a second, you thought Winnie the Pooh was a dude right?

So did I. Turns out we were both wrong.

There was always some confusion, at least for me, about whether or not Piglet was a girl. Because you know, Piglet was pink. But, I learned that Piglet was a boy, along with pretty much everyone except Kanga. I was pretty sure she was the only female in the whole woods.

A new book, "Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World's Most Famous Bear," is shocking all of us by explaining that Winnie the Pooh was an actual real life baby bear, and a girl baby bear.

The book shares the story of a Veterinarian named Harry Colebourn. In 1914 he rescued a baby girl bear from the city of Winnipeg and named her Winnie.

Eventually that bear ended up in the London Zoo where she met the actual real-life Christopher Robin. Who, of course, we all know is the boy in all of the Winnie the Pooh books.

When the books were written, Pooh bear was a boy, but that real baby bear who inspired one of the most loved characters from our childhood was really a baby girl bear named Winnie.
