If You Visit An Illinois Apple Orchard, You Must Get These
There are so many great reasons to visit an apple orchard this fall. The animals, the apple cider, the crisp air as we get further into the "berrrr" months.
If I'm being completely honest, there's one thing I look forward to more than anything else.
Apple cider donuts.
Sugared ones, to be clear.

I don't care if I'm visiting an orchard to pick apples, take pictures, walk around with a warm cup of cider, or just enjoy the fall vibes. If they're whipping up warm apple cider donuts in their kitchen (which would be crazy if they weren't), I'm getting some.
It's practically a requirement at this point.
These donuts have a chokehold over me, seriously.
I just went to Edwards Apple Orchard West over the weekend and got a dozen sugared donuts to take home. Well, it didn't even make it to the register before half the bag was eaten. My boyfriend helped me eat it, don't worry.
There's just something about orchard donuts that makes them taste better when you're enjoying them at the apple orchard. They're so soft, and warm, and sweet, and all of those things makes them so much harder to resist. You take one bite, and suddenly you can't control your hand. It's reaching back into the bag to grab another, and another, and within minutes you've consumed half the bag.
That was me on Sunday.
No shame. Not an ounce.
So next time you're at any of our apple orchards around Rockford, treat yourself to an apple cider donut. It'll make your day a thousand times better!
