Illinois & Missouri Cities Named Some of the Best For Staycations
Now more than ever families are looking to stay close to home for vacation. We here in the Tri-States are lucky to be close to some of the best cities in the country which have now been named the best for staycations.
Both Chicago and St. Louis made a list of the Best and the Worst Cities for Staycations according to Wallethub. St. Louis came in at #27 and gained the most points for food and entertainment. It's a short drive for us, but there are so many free things to do like the zoo, science center, and exploring Foreset Park. You have Magic House, City Museum (which is inexpensive and you can spend hours in there), a ball game, Grant's Farm, and more.
Chicago is a bit higher on the list at #3 and scored high in food and entertainment as well, but they are higher up on the list because there is just more food and entertainment to enjoy. With museums, aquariums, parks, Navy Pier, a ball game, and more you won't be bored in either city. You could even take the train and not pay for gas and paring in the city.
Yes, you do have to travel a little but it's not like going to Disney or overseas, you are still close to home and you get to have some fun while hopefully not spending too much money.
Ironically, the top city on the list is Honolulu and the worst is Peral City, both in Hawaii.
