Illinois’ “Most Adorable Small-Town Joint” is a Great Mini Road Trip
Is your summer calendar filling up yet? I sure hope so!
This summer is going to be filled with families getting outside and enjoying life again. One of the best ways to enjoy life? Eating! When you're planning summer fun you probably think of pools, vacations, hikes, boats, and other activities. But don't forget eating.
A new survey revealed each state's "most adorable small-town joint and what to order there" and Illinois' is in the perfect town for a mini summer road trip. Galena, Illinois, if you've never been, this is your sign to go this summer.
Need a food suggestion? I've got you.
Located on the cobbled streets of Galena, Vinny Vanucchi’s is a beautifully rustic Italian restaurant that will transport you to Tuscany. The spacious venue has four dining areas, including a cappuccino garden, making social distancing easy. The pollo compomare (chicken, broccoli, mushroom and tomato in a creamy, spicy sauce with linguine) and the spaghetti olio (with olive oil, garlic, fresh basil and chili) come highly recommended. Make a reservation via the website.
This place truly looks like it will transport you out of Illinois.
The food looks delicious and if you need a suggestion, MSN says you should try the pollo compomare or the spaghetti olio. Based off the menu, I don't think you can make a bad pick.
There's a ton of outdoor seating perfect for social distancing and for summer, so put this on your summer 2021 bucket list.
