Illinois Back-to-School Guide: What Every Parent Needs to Know
Summer is officially coming to an end for students in Illinois—many go back next week, that's crazy to think about!
I don't have kids of my own, but I know tons of parents out there are in panic mode trying to figure out their kids' new schedules, bus routes, making sure they wake up on time for class, and making breakfast.

Don't worry, I put together a little survival guide for anyone who needs a little help staying sane this time of year.
Illinois Back-to-School Guide: What Every Parent Needs to Know
Whether your child is starting Kindergarten or in their last year of high school, this is just a quick guide to make sure you're ready for their first day back!
Check the school calendar and important dates; put it on your fridge
The school website will have all the events and important dates you need to stay up-to-date on all the latest things happening around the school.
Double-check all health requirements & registration is completed
Make sure your child is fully registered and medical forms have been submitted. If not, you might have a whole new headache to deal with.
Set a sleep schedule for yourself (and possibly your kiddo)
If you adjust your bedtime, as well as your kiddo's, their first day of school won't be so harsh on them. They don't get enough sleep as it is, right?
Make sure a lunch is packed and ready to go the night before
I made this mistake as a kid. I always woke up late so I never had a chance to make a lunch. My mom tried teaching me time management, but I never listened. Don't be like me, pack a lunch the night before!
