If you haven't seen 13-year-old Laura Bretan sing yet, you're missing out.

In what has to be the first newsworthy mention of America's Got Talent, last night's performance was a complete stunner.

Laura Bretan, from Skokie (84 miles SE of Rockford), was as timid and shy as you'd think a typical 13-year-old would be while standing on such a large stage. That all changed the minute the music started. absolutely killed it.

According to People "13-year-old opera singer Laura Bretan earned a standing ovation with her moving performance of "Nessun Dorma" – and received coveted praise from Simon Cowell on Tuesday's premiere."

Hearing something so big and so polished come out someone so young, is quite amazing.

Cowell said " I have never heard anything like that in all the years I've been doing this show."

If you can believe it, Bretan said, according to NBC Chicago, "she was relieved to have finished her performance."

It's OK Ms. Bretan. You hang on to those golden pipes. Bretan is up for the $1 million prize up for grabs at the end of the season.
