The financial website Investing recently took a 10,000 foot view of many national food places that have had struggles. In that massive list, there are a precious few that seem to specifically be reducing their footprint in Illinois for some reason. Here are 5 to watch out for.

Jack in the Box

There used to be dozens of Jack in the Box restaurants in Illinois. Now, as of this writing, I can only count 9 on their official website. That's quite a downfall for an iconic food place.

Quiznos

Quiznos used to be a real up and coming force in Illinois. At last count, there appear to be only 7 Quiznos in Illinois. What happened?

Perkins Restaurant

Perkins seemed to be carving out an interesting niche in the Illinois food landscape. Sadly, I can only find 6 Perkins remaining in Illinois.

TGI Fridays

TGI Fridays has seen better days. Yes, you can still find them in Illinois, but of the 14 I was able to locate in the Land of Lincoln a VAST majority are clustered in the Chicago area. Rest of the state of Illinois? Not so much.

Ruby Tuesday

What used to be a staple in most major Illinois cities, now there appears to be only one lone remaining Ruby Tuesday in Litchfield, Illinois.
