It's easy to discount one person who thinks they saw an unidentified flying object. It's something completely different when a UFO is seen by hundreds. That's exactly what happened in Tinley Park, Illinois and it happened twice.

Two of the most famous UFO sightings in history happened in the Chicago area in the late summer and fall of 2004. The first occurred on August 21, 2004 when hundreds saw a massive UFO in several different cities in that part of Illinois. This is a screenshot from actual video from the event.

One of the reasons for the mass sighting is it happened right after an Ozzfest performance in Tinley Park. According to the event as shared by the History channel, many were stuck in a traffic jam when 3 lights appeared above them slowly moving across the sky making no sound at all.

Many that tried to debunk the sighting over Tinley Park, Illinois used the Ozzy Osbourne concert as an excuse. Surely those attending were affected by whatever they sampled at the show, right? One big problem with that theory though - The object returned to the sky again on October 31, 2004. Estimates from eyewitnesses claim the object could have been as large as 1,500 feet across.

No conventional explanation has been given by authorities about what was spotted over multiple locations in Illinois on those two nights in 2004. No known aircraft that could be that large were in the area and the military has offered no explanation. All that is certain is that hundreds in the Tinley Park, Illinois area are convinced something supernatural appeared above their heads.

Michigan's President Gerald Ford's UFO Papers

In June of 1966, following a number of unidentified flying objects spotted in Southern Michigan and other parts of the country, then United States Congressman Gerald R. Ford took the United States Air Force to task for trying to dismiss his constituents' sightings as the result of swamp gas. Here are the papers, courtesy of the Gerald R Ford Presidential Library & Museum.
