When we asked on this particular Monday what we could do to make your day better, one family wanted to share their love for the team who saved their son.

Here's the request we received:

Dear Steve and Mandy,
I hope you will consider my, Make My Monday request. Here is my story, 3 weeks ago I gave birth to a beautiful little boy. My husband and I have 3 girls at home. My son came early at 36 weeks and 6 days. As I delivered via emergency c section my husband who is a pilot for the United States Army and is currently working in Afghanistan rushed home (which takes days) to be by my side. We almost lost our son on several different times due to his premature lungs and complications. I never thought I would know what it felt like to live with my heart outside of my body but as I watched Noah fight for his life I saw that he owned mine.

This has been the hardest 3 weeks of our lives. Every moment of every day the nurses at Rockford Memorial Hospital NICU and Birthing have been there for our family. We live in Janesville and were transported. We had nothing, they gathered toiletries and other items for my husband and I but most of all they have been there emotionally for us. They ARE angels on this earth!! Always with a smile and hug, information and explanations of everything going on and even sat and cried with us.

Because of them we have our son, and because of them my husband and I are bringing our little boy home on Thursday. Thursday, which is our wedding anniversary. What a gift to us!! This Monday, would you please deliver flowers to the nurses in the NICU at Rockford Memorial Hospital. I couldn't name all of the nurses because there have been so many, but they will never forget our Noah and we will never forget them. Again please consider giving them a shout out and flowers, that would truly make our Monday.

Sincerely, Heather and Dustin
