A little joy and heat relief was requested for a recent 'Make My Monday' and as always, The Steve Shannon Show delivered and got ridiculously crafty.

Shelli Sublett, a TIP Team Leader and Jail Assessor from Rosecrance asked:

Hello Steve,
Can you help make "my teams monday"? I am an employee of Rosecrance and am the Team Leader of the TIP program in Winnebago County. We work as a team of 6 to provide mental health services to those involved in the criminal justice system. The work we do can be overwhelmingly stressful but still one of the most rewarding at the same time. We have our team meeting every monday morning, and I would love to make their monday, by surprising them with coffee/tea, muffins, fruit, bagels, donuts (anything really!!) to show them how much they are truly appreciated for the hard work that they do. Thanks so much for your time and all that you do to brighten our lives...especially on Mondays!

We delivered a giant box of cookies to Shelli and her team at Roscrance on N. Main St. in Rockford.

Then came a phone call from Specialist Caitlyn Arwen, serving at the 45th Reserve Station in Machesney Park.

Her team has been preparing for a very important mission in Belize. They were doing weapons training and heavy lifting during the absolute hottest days of this Summer so far. She asked for anything that would bring them smiles and a little relief from the heat. Since we can't design air-conditioned military uniforms, we tried something else. We built a make-shift, portable lemonade stand. An idea my daughter and I came up with while at Walmart.
