If you have the ability to give back to your community, I highly recommend you spend some time doing so.

There is nothing better than the feeling in your heart after a day of giving back. You just feel GOOD! No matter the event, it's always a good idea to do some volunteer work. It's good for the community and good for the soul.

This weekend I got to host an all-women's build with Rockford's Habitat For Humanity. It was such an incredible day filled with a ton of hard work and a lot of fun. I had never built with Habitat before this weekend and I think I'm officially hooked. I can't wait to get back out there.

We spent our day building walls for one of the local houses they are working on. I've never done any construction in my life. But it was so much easier than I anticipated. We all got together and learned what to do, then we went to work and got it done. Check out these awesome pictures.

It was a sweaty day so many water breaks were taken. And of course, we all had our fun mini matching fans. Overall it was a day filled with laughs, hard work, and inspiration to continue giving back. We were able to meet some of the families who are living in these newly built houses and it really made the day come full circle.

If you have the want in your heart to give back, I HIGHLY recommend volunteering with Rockford's Habitat for Humanity. You can learn more here.
