There's a reason why I love radio. Everyday is an opportunity for people like Steve Shannon and I to make a difference in someone's life; there's nothing more enjoyable in life than bringing joy to the life of others. Any time we open the mic it's an opportunity for us to make you feel something and if we're not doing that, than we're not doing our job.

If there's ever a time that you want to share something with us, whether it's good news, or you're having a bad day, don't hesitate to reach out to us like 95-year-old Bill Palmer did with his local radio station in Southampton, England.

Palmer is a huge fan of the Alex Dyke's mid-morning show and he called during the show because he just wanted someone to talk to. Palmer recently had to put his wife, who he married last year after being friends with her for 30 years, in a nursing home. He could no longer care for her after a severe fall; but he visits her every day.

Dyke was touched by Palmer's story so his team sent a taxi to pick him up and they had him on the show; he was an absolute hit.

What a truly heartwarming thing to do.
