A Winnebago County jury found Kenneth Johnson, 29, guilty in the shooting death of Russell Jefferson, 31 at Cronie's Bar and Grill in October of 2019.

The jury found Kenneth Johnson guilty of First Degree Murder. He's due back in court on October 30th and could get 60 years in prison for the murder of Russell Jefferson.

On October 6, 2019, Kenneth Johnson opened fire at Cronie’s Bar & Grill, shooting two men. The second victim survived.

This event led to the quick closing of a great Machesney Park business that served some of the best chicken wings in the Stateline area. After over 30 years of great food and good times, Cronie's was permanently closed,  just two weeks after the shooting.
