Manhunt Ends, Fugitive Joseph Jakubowski Has Been Captured
The manhunt for anti-government manifesto writing Joseph Jakubowski has ended on a farm in Vernon County, Wisconsin.
According to madison.com, Joseph was spotted Thursday (4/13) evening camping on some farmland near Readstown, a little community near the Vernon-Richland-Crawford county lines.
Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said his department got a call Thursday night about a suspicious person on the farm that matched Jakubowski's description so they responded around 9:30 p.m.. The person who called in the complaint said they'd asked the man to leave the property but he refused.
"Shortly before 6 a.m., tactical officers made contact with the suspicious person at the campsite," Spoden said. "He was taken into custody without incident and was positively identified as Joseph Jakubowski, our wanted fugitive." - Sheriff Robert Spoden
A press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. today (4/14) to share details of the arrest and plans to return Jakubowski to Rock County.
