Mercyhealth has opened the new Javon Be a hospital and is now looking for volunteers who'd like to be a special part of their team.

The volunteer opportunities exist at both the new hospital and the Rockton Ave. campus. Mercyhealth is looking for volunteers at their greeter desks, gift shops, and for in-patient transportation and more, according to mystateline.com. There may even be opportunities to snuggle babies in the NICU.

No experience is needed for any of the positions available. All new volunteers will go through some training to make sure they find a job that matches you.

If you are interested in volunteering, you'll need to attend one of several volunteer welcome sessions being held in the next few weeks.

The sessions will be held at Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside in conference rooms 1a-1b. 8201 E. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL 61114.
