Good news and bad news. It's a disappointing reminder that we still have a long road ahead in overcoming the covid pandemic, but at least it isn't cancelled.

Milwaukee's Big Summer Gig on the lake is on the move for 2021. I miss concerts so much. And for us in the Midwest, there's no better time or place to see concerts, than Summeriest. While the prospect of returning to big shows the way they used to be seems much closer than last summer, we still have a long way to go for everyone to be safe.

The good news here is that Summerfest could've been cancelled for 2021, but organizers believe it's a great possibility we will be able to safely attend Summeriest in September. And, instead of several days in a row,  Summeriest will be spread out over three consecutive weekends.

Summerfest 2021 will now be held Sept. 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18. Those are all Thursdays-Saturdays.

"We were advised that it's going to take more time to get to the broader community to get people vaccinated than our June 23rd start date would have allowed so from the beginning we had a June plan and September plan and we just basically pushed the September button when we had all of the facts in front of us," Milwaukee World Festival President & CEO Don Smiley said.

Summerfest organizers are working on getting the American Family Insurance Amphitheater show rescheduled. Halsey is pregnant so she has cancelled her entire tour. No other concert updates were given.

Valid Summerfest 2020 and 2021 general admission tickets issued to date may be redeemed during the new September dates. Refunds on Summerfest admission tickets purchased via Summerfest.com or Ticketmaster are available.

Information regarding how to get a refund on festival admission tickets, as well as information regarding concert tickets for the American Family Insurance Amphitheater can be found at Summerfest.com.
