NASA Scientist Finds Fastest Way to Defog Your Windsheild

While a foggy windshield isn't the biggest of car problems but it can be a pain if you're late. Nobody wants to drive to work staring through a little circle of clear glass.

Mark Rober is a former NASA engineer who now makes YouTube videos all about science.   He found some easy tricks that will help you blast fog off the inside of your windshield in half the time. This isn't some tale from an old-timer... this is science.

In his video, he starts with the science behind the cause of windshield fog and then he gets to experimenting. He tests several different air conditioning settings before finding the fastest way. And keep in mind he's defogging not defrosting, for that you better have a scraper (or credit card).

Here are the HVAC settings that Mark Rober discovered clears fog the fastest:

Defroster fan on highest setting
Temperature control on its hottest
A/C turned on
Recirculate turned off
Crack your windows
