There are not enough new bicycles available in Rockford.

This COVID-19 pandemic has brought about some strange shortages. First, toilet paper, then things like canned goods, cleaning supplies, medical masks, and meat. Now, there are not enough bikes.

When I think about it, that actually makes sense. People have more time on their hands. They're bored. The weather is getting better. Okay, what kind of outdoor activity can families participate in together. Riding bikes sounds perfect.

I guess a lot of people are thinking the same thing because there's now a shortage of new bicycles in the Rockford area.

According to mystateline.com,

"With fewer cars out on the roads and nice weather means more and more people are biking around the Forest City. Local stores are even selling out of their inventory.  A research firm found that bike sales were up 50% in March from last year. The demand is currently so high that racks are nearly empty. Employees are asking customers to be patient as they restock."

Don't forget. you can always take that old bike out of storage and use it. Many of the stores in Rockford can fix them too.

I think I'll stick with my feet. I haven't been on a bike in years.
