Alright Twins, Brewers and White Sox fans; it's time to fess up and admit that you've jumped on the Chicago Cubs bandwagon. I'll go first. Yesterday I was doing some shopping and I almost....almost bought a Cubs throwback t-shirt. Ok, and maybe a hoodie, too.  But I have no shame, nope. Heck, I'll probably be bellied up next to you at a local watering hole cheering them on tonight as they take on the Pirates.

Before I do that; before any bandwagon fan decides to jump on, you apparently need to apply for acceptance with the official Chicago Cubs Fan Bandwagon application.

Some of the questions include:

"Previous experience of rooting for the Cubs before abandoning them (check all that apply): 1998/ 2003 / 2007 / 2008"

"What's your preferred Cubs-related illogical curse superstition?"

and

"What's your preferred outdated offensive/ or sophomoric vendor t-shirt choice?"

In addition to the application, if you want to join in on the hype, Red Eye Chicago has put together 10 things you should know in order to start fangirling over the hottest team in baseball right now.  I've selected some of the most need-to-know facts that will enable you to have a decent conversation with those die hard fans.

1. The Cubs haven't won a World Series in 107 years.

2. Their playoff game against the Pirates is extremely important; if they don't win tonight, the season's over.  Consider this: Cubs play at 7:08pm,  which is 19:08 military time. 1908 is the last World Series win. It was 107 years ago and the game is on 10/7. Freaky!

3. The guys to watch are pitcher Jake Arrieta, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo.

4. You have to hate the Chicago White Sox, but hate the St. Louis Cardinals more.

5. The Curse of the Billy goat. Legend has it that the team has been cursed ever since the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern was kicked out of Wrigley Field after other fans complained that his pet goat smelled.

Go Cubs, Go.
