This beer is so good, the manufacturer won't sell it anywhere but the state in which it's brewed.

So when I find myself across state lines in Wisconsin, I make sure I pick up a 12-pack or two before heading home.

And you know what? It's totally worth it.

I can't imagine someone living their entire life without having the chance to take a sip of New Glarus' delicious Spotted Cow. I'm not overstating the tastiness of their beer either, because it's one of the best I've ever had.

Actually, nearly every beer New Glarus has ever brewed and bottled is incredible in its own little way.

That's why I was even more hyped when I saw that New Glarus was named Wisconsin's best craft brewery by Thrillist.

Thrillist says "Spotted Cow may be essentially the state beer of Wisconsin, but it's New Glarus' funky and fruity offerings that really set it apart, like its peerless Raspberry Tart."

Roughly an hour from Rockford, New Glarus is totally worth the trip. If you can't make it, you can always stop in Beloit. I know of a few gas stations where you pick up a 12-er of Spotted Cow.
