Things have begun to look a bit closer and closer to normal in Illinois, and it's coming at a perfect time.

Because we're looking for things to do, and for us in Rockford, we won't have to go too far to check out one of Illinois' "top rated tourist attractions."

According to Planet Ware, they took a look at the entire state in order to figure out the best destinations to check out.

Included on their 12 Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Illinois list, there are plenty of Chicago hotspots, including Willis Tower Skydeck, Millenium Park, and Cloud Gate AKA The Bean, The Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, and the Art Institute.

There was one tourist attraction that made the list that you can check out in Rockford. Chances are you have been there, and if you haven't you should make plans now.

Coming in at #7 on Planet Ware's list is Anderson Japanese Gardens.

Planet Ware:

Anderson Japanese Gardens, a 10-acre Japanese garden in Rockford, is a splendid retreat with cascading waterfalls, ponds, streams rock formations, winding lanes, a tea house, and guest house built in the authentic sukiya style. When you're ready for a break from sightseeing, this is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy some tranquility. Benches and artfully designed areas allow for reflection and contemplation.

Located at 318 Spring Creek Road in Rockford, and open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anderson Japanese Gardens ranks as the #1 thing to do in Rockford on Trip Advisor and scores a 5 out of 5 based on user reviews.

The article also makes mention of the restaurant on the premises at Anderson Japanese Gardens, Fresco at the Gardens.

To me, the addition of Fresco makes a trip to Anderson Japanese Gardens a can't miss.
