Payless ShoeSource Might Be Coming Back To Rockford

Payless ShoeSource just closed up the last of their remaining stores, including the Rockford location, and now they might be coming back.

Well, not all Payless ShoeSource stores and no official word on which locations just yet.

After filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Payless only sold shoes on Amazon. Now it appears the footwear company will restart selling shoes on their own website with a plan to reopen some physical stores.

New Payless CEO Jared Margolis said in a press release:

We intend to leverage Payless’ existing infrastructure, which is best in class and already includes product design & development, distribution, marketing, and a strong relationship with major footwear manufacturers. Thus, providing the new Payless with the ability to be nimble, innovative, and to fast-track our biggest growth opportunity: The United States.

Internationally, Payless ShoeSource has done well with stores remaining in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Payless ShoeSource in Rockford closed in June of 2019. If Payless does again open stores, and it sounds like they are, would you like to see them reopen in Rockford?
