Popular Rockford Pie Shop Announces Plans To Close And We Have Mixed Fillings

Just because a business is closing that doesn't mean "gone forever."

That's the word coming from Kate's Pie Shop:

It is with a touch of the bittersweet that we’re announcing the closing of Kate’s Pie Shop & Café as it exists today. After 5 years at our current location, we will be locking our doors on Saturday, April 27th at 5pm for the last time at the East Branch of the Rockford Public Library. But never fear; we are not gone forever! We are merely transitioning away from a café setting and diving into some new and exciting ventures over the next year that we can’t share just yet. No spoilers!

Kate also mentioned the official date of closure:

Between now and April 27th, all of the shop’s merchandise… records, t-shirts, CDs, posters, backstage passes… are 50% off! All of the custom paintings in the shop, created during our Paint Night events, are only $50 each! (No holds, additional discounts, or layaway on any merchandise or paintings.) Come in while supplies last and grab some excellent deals!
Finally (but not final), we wish to thank all of you, our wonderful customers, for an incredible ride so far. The support you continue to show us is crazy and we love ya for it! We can’t wait to see you this summer at the markets and area events as continue to fill your pie hole with the best pies in the area. Don’t be strangers, but stay strange.
