You've heard that "location, location, location," is one of the biggest things when selling a home. The same can be said for opening a business too.

At least according to Reboot Illinois who released a list recently featuring the best cities in Illinois to open up a business.

As I guessed, while perusing the list I saw most of the usual suspects until I reached the 6th ranked city.

Here are the ten best small cities to start a business in Illinois, according to Reboot Illinois

  1. North Chicago
  2. Carbondale
  3. Northbrook
  4. Decatur
  5. Round Lake Beach
  6. Belvidere
  7. Romeoville
  8. Bloomington
  9. Granite City
  10. Champaign

Congrats to Belvidere for making the list! Out of 1,200 small cities researched, Belvidere landed at 241 and even higher when it came to "business environment" where the city ranked 193.

The only place Belvidere ranked low was on the "access to resources" list. They came in at 908.

No other Rockford area city made the list.

Tell us, What's your favorite Belvidere small business?
