A Rockford business is fighting back for its good name after being falsely identified as the owner of the charter bus involved in the triple murder earlier this month on the west side of the city. Several media outlets guessed the bus's owner based on something that caught their eye and, unfortunately, didn't fact check before publishing.

Distinguished Gentlemen Menswear has been in downtown Rockford for a few years selling upscale clothing and accessories all while operating a reputable business. Like most businesses, the owner ran advertising throughout Rockford including on a charter bus often used for weddings and proms. According to RRStar.com, the advertising agreement for the bus was a deal made with previous owners and not the current owner(s).

Davis said he had the ad put on the bus when a previous owner was transporting guests attending proms and weddings, and he thought having his name on the bus would help sales at his menswear business. He said he hasn't paid the new owner to keep the ad on the limousine-style bus and does not have a contract for the ad.

Distinguished Gentlemen Menswear owner, Timothy Davis, wants to make it very clear that he has no affiliation or connection to Private Entertainment, the current owner of the bus linked to a triple murder.
