The Rockford Public Library kicks off their summer reading challenge today, June 1, inviting Rockford kids to read as much as they can this summer.

Parents have been asked to become teachers at home for the last few months, which is not as easy as it sounds.

Trying to remember how to do math, which science terms to use in chemistry, that was very tough, but encouraging your kids to read, now that's something parents have been great at for years!

This year's, Rockford Public Library Summer Reading Challenge is called, 'Dig Deeper, Read, Investigate, Discover' and runs from today until August 31.

It's pretty simple, you read books and earn prizes.

You can sign up now through the beanstack app or on the RPL website.
