Planet Fitness is rolling out a Summer Challenge and every teen in Rockford and the rest of the country can try it and workout for free.

The best part, every teenager who signs up is entered to win prizes, like headphones and movie tickets. Planet Fitness is also awarding one $500 scholarship in each state and a $5000 grand prize.

The rules are simple, to get involved you need to be between the ages of 15 and 18 and sign up at the Planet Fitness nearest you.

If you're under 18, you'll need to bring a parent and/or guardian. After that, you're all set.

Planet Fitness is also offering teen specific classes, "at least once a day, Monday through Friday." according to their website.

The Planet Fitness Summer Challenge starts Wednesday, May 15 and runs through Sunday, September 1.

There are two Planet Fitness locations in the Rockford area, 2420 South Alpine Road and 633 North Second Street in Loves Park. There are two others nearby, one in Beloit while another Planet Fitness is coming soon to DeKalb.

Obviously, you don't need to do any of this. You could just sit inside and play video games all summer. You might not get a workout, but your thumbs will get worn out.
