In the age of social distancing and quarantining, you still need to get some exercise and drink some wine.

Wait, can you do those at the same time?

Well, apparently, you can do whatever is necessary at this point, so why not have a sippy sip while running a 5k for a great cause in the Rockford area.

That's why starting next Saturday, April 18 through Saturday, May 30, the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation is holding a Virtual Wine Run 5k.

You can run outside or on a treadmill if you have one at home. Just remember, stay 6 feet away from other people.

Anyway, you can register for the virtual wine run at runsignup.com, and it costs $25.

For signing on the dotted line, you'll get some pretty sweet race day swag too including a race bib, t-shirt, finisher medal, and a custom wineglass.

Did we say it supports a great cause too? I did? Either way, the sign-up says "Now is a better time than ever to stay active, stay connected with others via social media, support local charities, and of course... enjoying a nice glass of wine!"
