If you have a pool in your backyard that doesn't require a pump to blow it up, I am totally envious of you.

At the end of last summer my kids officially fell in love with swimming and I was so looking forward to spending this summer at a public pool with my kiddos, and then the 'rona hit. So far they are satisfied spending several days a week splashing around in our blow up pool in the backyard, but this mama is not. I need a full-fledged pool day, and as YMCA members, I thought we could start enjoying the next best thing at the Y next week...the return of indoor swimming.

Yes, pools are opening at the SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA on Monday, June 15, but open swims are not. :(

According to the statement made on YMCA of Rock River Valley's Facebook yesterday;

We are opening the North (warm water) and South pools at our SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA starting June 15. We are starting with 45-minute lap lane reservations from 10am-2pm and 4pm-7pm, which will open by the end of the week.

The Y says swim lessons and aqua fitness classes should be added in the "near future", but open swim times cannot return until the entire facility is reopened in Phase 4 of Illinois' reopening plan. Until then, I will be waiting very impatiently.
