RPS 205 Could Begin Providing Housing for Aspiring Teachers

I could start this by listing a bunch of things we already know about teachers; that it is a rewarding but hard vocation that requires long hours for less than stellar pay, but I'd rather focus on the fact that these days good teachers are hard to come by, and that something needs to be done about it.

Recently a proposal was made to Rockford Public Schools 205 that could help remedy the teacher shortage happening in our district right now. According to mystateline.com, this proposal involves providing housing assistance to upcoming teachers who participate in a year-long Aspiring Teachers Program and who agree to remain in the district for 2 years after the program is finished.
