Rules For Giving Marijuana For Christmas
If you plan on giving marijuana for Christmas presents, remember there are rules to follow to avoid getting in trouble.
Maybe this year, you are looking for a unique gift idea to get your friend for Christmas. He's the type of person that has everything and needs nothing. The main activity when you hang out is smoking pot. You figured getting your bestie some weed would make a great gift.
At first, this sounds like a crazy idea but remember, we now live in a different world. Cannabis is a lot more acceptable. It's legal in many states.
According to brobible.com,
"Now that marijuana is legal in some states – ten to be exact — gifting pot products is a solid move providing a little holiday cheer for those ungrateful bastards in your social circle – even though they don’t deserve it."
Unfortunately here in Illinois, we don't have legalized recreational marijuana. Unless you plan on taking a road trip to a legal state, your options are limited. If you don't have a "sweet hookup," you will definitely want to be careful. The last thing you want is to spend the holidays in jail. Finding someone with a "medical card" is always a good way to go.
Never use the mail.
"If you know someone that lives in a state where marijuana is legal, it might be tempting to have them send Christmas weed to you across the country by way of the U.S. Postal Service. But don’t do it. The federal government has been cracking down on this illegal activity for the past several years. Anyone caught shipping pot through the mail can be prosecuted. And let’s face it if you end up spending the next holiday in federal prison, none of those thankless dudes you call friends are coming to visit."
This is very important. If you decide to bake "special" treats make sure to keep them separate from regular goodies. The last thing you want is Grandma getting stoned because she got into the wrong cookies.
It's risky to give the gift of weed for the holidays, so if you decide to do it please be careful. The safer bet might be some gift cards.
