Schnucks To Stock Shelves With More Rockford-Area Products
I remember how cool I thought it was the first time I walked into the Schnucks store by the CherryVale Mall and saw Rockford Art Deli shirts displayed for purchase. Sure we've always been able to buy Rockford's beloved Old Salty and Mrs. Fisher's Potato Chips in their Stateline-area stores, but now Schnucks wants to take that support-local-brands effort one big step further.
According to the Rockford Register Star;
Schnucks Markets has put a call out for more local suppliers in its Midwest stores.
The chain grocer has partnered with RangeMe, an online platform that helps retailers discover new products from suppliers.
RRStar says Schnucks officially launched their mission to support more local suppliers last month and that "Schnucks' merchandising leaders will work to identify suppliers located within 125 miles of a store or in one of the four states served by Schnucks".
So now the big question is, how do your locally-made products get on Schnucks' radar? The first step is to register at rangeme.com/schnuckslocal21.
Schnucks spokesperson Paul Simon told the Rockford Register Star;
This is our way of encouraging local vendors and suppliers to reach out to us," he said. "It’s not easy to get your foot in the door when you’re a small local vendor.
"We want to get their products in front of our customers because we know that small businesses are the backbones of local economies, when they do better we all do better."
