Six Flags Great America Will Debut 3 New Haunted Houses
Get ready to scream—again—because Fright Fest is back at Six Flags Great America for its 33rd season of sheer terror. Yes, it’s been scaring the pants off people for that long. With five haunted houses and nine scare zones, this Halloween tradition is here to remind you that fear never gets old, it just gets better… or worse, depending on how you look at it.
Fright Fest 2024
Calling all thrill-seekers and horror enthusiasts—because who wouldn’t want to pay for the privilege of being scared out of their wits? Fright Fest delivers a heart-pounding combo of terrifying rides and spine-chilling haunted houses. So, if you thought a roller coaster at night was enough to get your adrenaline pumping, just wait until something jumps out at you in the dark.
This season, the park is pulling out all the stops with three brand-new Haunted House experiences:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022): Step into Harlow, where influencers are trying to “revitalize” the town. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t go well. Instead, it turns into a bloodbath that only Leatherface could love. Enjoy the carnage!
Stranger Things: Because nothing says Halloween like being transported into a hit Netflix show. You’ll get to dodge Demogorgons and try not to become the latest resident of the Upside Down. Good luck with that.
The SAW Franchise: Celebrate 20 years of pure nightmare fuel with Jigsaw’s latest house of horrors. This time, you’ll be the unlucky guest of honor, navigating traps that’ll make you question your life choices—assuming you survive.
Fright Fest runs on weekends and select nights from September 14 through November 3.
Kids Boo Fest
Calling all little ghouls and goblins—Kids Boo Fest at Six Flags Great America is the perfect way for families to get in on the Halloween fun without the fright! On Saturdays and Sundays, you and your kiddos can enjoy a day packed with spooktacular activities that keep the fun going until 5:00 pm. It’s all treats and no tricks, making it an ideal fall outing for the whole family.
BOO-Yeah! Parade: Get ready to groove with Tractor Terry and his friends as they roll out a festive fall parade and dance party. It’s all about autumn fun, and everyone’s invited to join the celebration!
Candy Corn Lane: Trick-or-treating gets a major upgrade at Candy Corn Lane. Your kids can collect sweet treats while strolling through a charming path lined with pumpkins, hay bales, and their favorite characters. The seasonal decorations make it a picture-perfect spot for some family photos, too.
Skeleton Squad: Four quirky skeletons are gearing up for their big annual scare contest, but they need some extra hands (or bones) to pull it off. Kids can help them out in this fun, interactive experience that’s more silly than spooky.
Not-So-Scary Story Time: Gather 'round for a cozy story session with some of the park’s friendliest characters. These festive tales are just the right amount of Halloween magic—perfect for younger children.
Kids Boo Fest is all about creating magical memories with your little ones. It’s a day of laughter, treats, and festive fun that the whole family will love. So dust off those costumes, grab your camera, and head to Six Flags Great America for a Halloween experience that’s just the right amount of boo!
Kids Boo Fest runs weekends from September 14 through November 3.
The Oktoberfest Food Festival returns in 2024 on select days from September 14 through November 3.
