Guilford High School Teacher Wins 'Teacher Of The Week' Award

A deserving teacher is making waves in Rockford, reminding us all how one person's passion can spark dreams in their students.

Congratulations to Allison Renfro from Guilford High School in Rockford, Illinois.

Allison was nominated by one of her students, Gabe Kilgore, who writes,

Mrs. Renfro is my English teacher. I never really enjoyed English much in fact I’d say it was pretty low on my list. However to my surprise I’m loving English this year. Mrs. Renfro is new at Guilford High School this year and I’m excited I get to be with her on her first year. She is so caring, supportive and teaches with empathy and compassion and has a real Funny side. I just would love to have her recognized for an amazing job and I hope more students will get to experience what a great teacher she is. Mrs. Renfro solidifies my decision to become a teacher in the future easy. I am inspired by Mrs. Renfro and hope one day I can make as much of an impact on students as she has on me. Please help me acknowledge her achievements in the classroom. Thanks a million.
