Teacher of The Week: Ms. George From Rock Cut Elementary

Congratulations to 97ZOK's brand new Teacher of the Week.

The award goes to Ms. George from Rock Cut Elementary School in Loves Park.

The nomination came from Jennifer, a mother of one of Ms. George's second graders -

I could tell from the minute we met her at open house she'd be an amazing teacher for my son!! He was so nervous about starting second grade it's all he could think about. She calmed his nerves right then and there talking about how natural it is to be nervous when it's something we haven't done before.

They started two days later and he's had a complete turnaround on nerves and attitude. He never wanted to try reading or math because "they're too hard for me", and I haven't heard that at all. He's so excited about science too!! She sends lots of communication home which I love too. Above all, it's so nice to see wonderful to see my son so happy. He just looked at me and said "Ms. George is really, really the nicest teacher ever." That's the best anyone could ever hope for where school is concerned for their child. Thank you so much Ms. George for giving me my sweet happy son back in only a week and a half!

Ms. George won Johnson won flowers from Broadway Florist, a bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a gift certificate from Oriental Trading Company.
