This school year was so unique because it was filled with a ton of teachers who never thought they'd be teachers.

Whether that be parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, you name it, so many people really stepped up for their family. With e-learning being the only option for a lot of kids, so many family members and guardians went above and beyond to keep their children learning.

This week's Teacher of The Week really stepped into that teacher roll. Congratulations to Kathleen McMaster from Machesney Park! Kathleen was nominated by her daughter Michelle and the nomination letter reads -

This is my mother. We recently became foster parents, to a beautiful little girl. My mother has been our rock. Me and my husband work full time jobs, and she is strictly e learning. She has an IEP and is ADHD so she can be wild but we wouldn’t have it any other way. My mother who is disabled gets up Monday to Friday and sits in the room with our daughter and does school with her and helps her. Then she will end up hanging out with her for the rest of the day till we get off work. When it comes to it I have the best mom and our daughter has the best teacher. She deserves everything under the sun and the moon. This is why I want her recognized.

We got to deliver some beautiful flowers from Broadway Florist and a delicious cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes to Kathleen to celebrate her and say thanks.
