Vincenza Becker nominated Mrs. Ladley, she writes,

Hi! My name is Vincenza Becker and I am a second-grade teacher at Holy Family in Rockford. I am nominating someone very special at our school, her name is Mrs. Ladley. Ok, so this might be a big "no, no", I know that this is a "Teacher of the week" award, but she is sort of NOT a teacher, she is our office secretary and she does our announcements every morning. She puts a smile on every kid and adult in the building each and every morning. Her voice over the PA makes us get excited even if it's a Monday morning and we are all exhausted from the weekend. When she announces kids birthdays she makes them feel so special and sings the birthday song to them with such enthusiasm. Every kid in our school looks forward to her joke of the day. Most mornings my second graders laugh at the joke and some mornings when they don't get the joke I love watching their brains work to try to figure it out and then when they get it their faces light up with excitement. My favorite part of Mrs. Ladley's announcements in the morning is when she says "ok everyone all together now let's say it We are going to have the best day ever!" My second graders and I and our whole school are so lucky to be able to start our day with Mrs. Ladley! If someone is feeling down, tired or sad that day at school it is absolutely impossible to feel that way around Mrs. Ladley. She is Holy Family's light, excitement and happiness. We love Mrs. Ladley so much, and she truly deserves to be recognized even though she isn't technically a teacher. I hope by sending this in 97zok doesn't get any ideas to try to hire her to be on the radio because she would be absolutely wonderful! Please don't take our Mrs. Ladley 97zok!

These second graders LOVE Mrs. Ladley, and so do we. It's wonderful to know there are humans who care very deeply about spreading JOY to our children daily.
