The 30 Words and Phrases That Drive People of Rockford Absolutely Nuts
Today is the day that we found out how aggravated some people get when other people use certain words or phrases. Here's the list of the worst offenses.
Before we get to the big (growing daily) list, I'd like to just mention which one's really get under my skin.
This is going to be a very cathartic experience for me, maybe it will be for you too. In every single interaction I have with other people, I always lead with love. That means that I often don't get the chance to really say what I want to say when some of these things come out of someone's mouth.
Words and Phrases USED INCORRECTLY That I Can't Stand
There are some people in our lives that we can say, "hey, that's not the right way to use that expression" and all is good. Like this first one. As soon as someone says this, I can't wait to correct them.
"Could care less"
Oh, could you now? If the message you're trying to convey is that you don't care about something, saying you COULD care less is not helping make your point.
The correct way to use this phrase is,
"Couldn't care less"
This next word is one of those things I think we just have to get used to hearing. I hear people say it so often that I believe it's a bad habit the user may never be able to break.
"Seen"
As in, "I seen that." It becomes very difficult for me not to feel some sort of physical discomfort when I hear someone say that.

- "Off the chain"
- "Anywhoo"
- "Brotha, Bro, Bruh, Brother" (unless you're my sister)
