Former Rockford Police Assistant Deputy Chief will be sworn in on Monday, November 20 as the new chief of the South Beloit Department.

Pat Hoey, a 30-plus year veteran of the Rockford Police Department, will take over as chief of the South Beloit Police department. He'll be replacing Dean Stiegemeier who is retiring, according to mystateline.com.

During Hoey's last few years with the Rockford Police department, he served as interim chief while the search for Chet Epperson's replacement was conducted. At the time of his retirement Hoey served as media liaison for the department. Upon his retirement from RPD he said this was only his 1st retirement, he joked, "I'm 52. I've got teenagers. I need to keep working."
