Planning a trip this summer? Maybe you want to read this list before you choose your destination.

You know those people who think, "I'll be fine..." I'm one of those people. I try to be a realist, I know there are dangerous place to go and I try not to be stupid and go somewhere alone in the dark, but at the same time I know I'll freak out if I'm too concerned with danger, that aside I'm not planning to go to Mississippi anytime soon.

Because, Mississippi is the most dangerous state in the country. While this survey, done by WalletHub, is actually titled the safest states to live, I'm pretty sure that also means the order holds true to travel to, also.

Illinois is right there in the middle, the 19th safest state to live in, so I'd say we're doing ok. Of course we all know which parts of the state are more dangerous than others, so be careful, but at least we didn't come in the top ten most dangerous. Here's that list:

  1. Mississippi
  2. South Carolina
  3. Oklahoma
  4. Tennessee
  5. New Mexico
  6. Nevada
  7. Louisiana
  8. Arizona
  9. Kentucky
  10. Alabama

Looks like we should head North this summer...
