Next time you hear someone complain "there's nothing to do in Rockford," show them this list.

The entire list is compiled by Trip Advisor who, based on their own reviews, ranked the top 10 things to do in Rockford.

Check out the top ten and why I think you should go to each of these places.

  1. Anderson Japanese Gardens - It is one of the most beautiful places in Illinois if not the entire midwest. If you have the chance, I recommend you to check to it out.
  2. Discovery Center Museum - Outside of the classroom, Rockford kids learn more here than anywhere else.
  3. Coronado Performing Arts Center - One of my favorite places in the city. The architecture and history really do it for me. I love the Coronado!
  4. Midway Village & Museum Center - Historical significance aside, the bike path and circle are some of the best exercise you can get in Rockford.
  5. Sinnissippi Park - This is also another great place to get a walk in, and it also runs along the Rock River. When you get that river breeze going, there might be nothing better.
  6. Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens - I have never been to Nicholas Conservatory but everything I hear about it makes it sounds like a great place to bring the family!
  7. Burpee Museum of Natural History - Dinosaurs! In our backyard! Yet another fantastic place to take the family.
  8. Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden - A great place to take the kids when the weather is bad. Some indoor sight seeing while removing cabin fever.
  9. Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens - One of many historical homes in Rockford that is home to many tours throughout the week. I also hear it's haunted. One of the reasons I recommend the trip.
  10. Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House - Frank Lloyd Wright was a visionary who created some amazing architectural works of art. This place is so cool that one Trip Advisor user says he'll "move in after the zombie apocalypse."

Is there anything that didn't make the list that needs to be on there? Let us know!
