New Year's resolutions are so 2014; there's a brand new way to set and achieve your New Year goals.

I gave up on New Year's resolutions years ago. I figured, what's the point if I'm going to just give up on them weeks later? Turns out, I'm not alone. According to a new survey, only 45% of Americans write up resolutions, compared to 88% in the past.

Then I spoke to an old friend of mine over the holidays who suggested I choose a theme for the new year. This is a kind of resolution I've never tried before; you just identify one idea as a theme for the entire year.

Some examples you could choose would be "go for it", "let it go" or "just do it". It's that simple, or pick your favorite song title from a song that motivates and inspires you.

This year, I think my theme will be, "don't take no for an answer". If I want something, not only will I go for it, but I won't take no for an answer.

What would your theme be?
