This is Rockford’s Best Restaurant According to Yelp

It's not often I see a restaurant on a local "best of" list and unable to weigh in.

That's because I have somehow missed out on this place and it's not because it hasn't been around for a few years.

I might be wrong but I feel like it opened either right at the beginning of the pandemic or during so it cut down on my ability to check the place out.

Either way, it persevered through those tumultuous years and managed to stay open and now, apparently it's Rockford's top restaurant.

Have you been to LimaMar Restaurant at 221 East State Street?

If not, it looks like you're missing out because Yelp says it's the best restaurant in the 815.

Madi J. on Yelp says:

Excellent dining experience. It is very apparent the owner takes pride in his food. Our meal was crafted with care and was our best dining experience in Rockford. We will definitely be back with friends to sample all of the delicious cocktails.

However, Yelper Lynn G. thinks differently:

The food is 4-5 stars but the service is 1 star. I don't fault the waitstaff. What a bummer. I hope they get their act together and improve the dining experience because the food is unique and tasty and beautifully plated.

Is LimaMar deserving of the top spot for best restaurant in Rockford?

Like I mentioned earlier, I haven't had the chance to eat at this place but I figure I need to make plans soon.
