Ah, Christmas – the time of year when we’re supposed to show our loved ones how much we care with thoughtful gifts, but what if I told you that the gift Illinoisans want the most isn’t a fancy tech gadget or a designer handbag?

Gift giving has always been my love language.  No matter who you are, if you're a significant person in my life you're 100% getting a gift on your birthday, every holiday, and especially Christmas.

I've always been thoughtful with gifts and make them extremely personalized.  This year, I've realized people don't need physical gifts in this economy... you get where I'm going with this?

Forget the electronics, jewelry, or the latest hot trending product on the market.  There's one thing we all really, truly hope we get but never ask for.  Can you guess what it is?

It's a little predictable: Money.

The one thing Illinoisans are asking for this holiday season is cold, hard cash.

Because let’s face it, money never goes out of style.  Use it how you want.  Pay that bill you've been neglecting.  You can do whatever you want with it!

It's like a gift card.  People always say, "that's not thoughtful! ".. well, it is if you give a gift card to someone's favorite store.  They can buy what THEY like without you stressing over whether they already have it.

Money is the same concept!  It makes last-minute shopping easy, too.  Just stuff a few bills in a card, and call it a day.  Another person checked off your gift list!

What else made the top 5 most desired list?

  • Gift cards
  • Electronics
  • Jewelry
  • Books

But really, let’s be honest – cash can buy anything you desire.  Remember that!
