"Is it open or is it closed?"

That was my thought when I drove past the restaurant late last week and it looked totally closed.

I'm not sure if Blazers Southwest Grill, located (or was located) at 6566 Riverside Boulevard, was a victim of the coronavirus or if it closed long before, so I decided to do some internet sleuthing.

First, I went to the Blazers website to see if it was gone or still up and running. Well, blazersrockford.com is still alive and kicking and there's a blurb mentioning their "Nashville hot chicken sandwich" among a few other tasty-sounding items.

Now I'm getting hungry.

Scrolling down to the bottom of the Blazers website homepage, I noticed a few links for their social media accounts.

I click their Facebook, and yes, that's gone. I thought, "maybe they closed this account, opened another, and never fixed it on their site."

I moved on to the Blazers Instagram and found, that, yes, this social is still up but has been updated since 2019.

Maybe the ultimate proof the place is closed up and possibly for good, is when I landed on the Blazers Southwest Grill Yelp listing.

Yelpers report this location has closed.

If that's the case, Blazers wasn't around long enough. From the look of things, the inside looked nice, and the reviews on the food were good.

I guess the restaurant is gone, and I'm sorry to hear that, but now I need a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Where in Rockford can I get one?
