If you've ever thought, 'there's nowhere to grocery shop in downtown Rockford,' you're right. But, that's all going to change in a few months.

The minute you move downtown you start thinking about the one thing missing from that area of Rockford, a grocery store.

Sure it's only a ten minutes trip to Valli or Target or Aldi, but that seems really far away when you just parked downtown.

Well, that's all going to change when 'Capital Foods' arrives at 202 W. State Street.

According to the Rockford Register Star, Capital Foods will be underneath the Burnham Lofts and those residents will have their own entrance to the grocery store.

Which is another reason to save your pennies to live there.

And you guessed it, the team behind Capital Foods is the same team behind the newly opened Capital House.

The store is expected to open by the end of the year, with construction beginning next month.
