A Bonfire Turned Nightmare
Talk about saving the day as a group of 19 and 20-year-olds rescued an elderly couple and several other family members from inside a burning home.
It all went down on the 4th of July in Lodi, Wisconsin, as the group of lifesavers hung out across the street after spending the day on the water.

A Dramatic Rescue
The friends spotted what they initially thought was a bonfire, but it was quickly turning into something more dire. The crew ran toward the home and split up to find a way inside, finally breaking in through a door.
They then called out for anyone who might be inside, and found five or six people helping them escape the blaze safely. One of the teenage rescuers told WMTV they were just focused on making sure everyone got out of the home alive. Firefighters say their actions likely saved the lives of those people.

A Birthday Turned Disaster
Believe it or not, the homeowner was celebrating his 91st birthday the same day when the fire started, and it's believed to have been caused by heavy use of fireworks in the area.
Imagine just hanging out on the 4th of July after a day on the water, and you see a house on fire. Kudos to that group for springing into action; as a result, plenty of lives were saved.
