4 Places to Celebrate S’mores Day Today in Rockford

Sure today is also National Lazy Day and Duran Duran Appreciation Day, but let's get real, the one you want to celebrate is National S'mores Day. S'mores are quite possibly the best dessert ever created. Chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows, melted to perfection, I'm drooling right here thinking about it.

Traditional S'mores are great by a campfire, but it's also pretty fun to see what kind of S'mores concoctions restaurants can come up with and a few of those restaurants are S'moring it up right here in Rockford.

So to celebrate National S'mores Day I went to Yelp to see what I could find. Here are the four "best" according to the site.

1. Giordano's Pizza on Executive Pkwy offers a S'mores dessert pizza in addition to their regular pies, it looks amazing and is topped with giant marshmallows.
2. Alchemy on N Bell School Rd does their own spin on the same idea but with a few extras, caramel, Nutella and peanut butter chips.
3. Starbucks has both S'mores dessert options and a delicious S'mores frappuccino. I can't be biased here, it's amazing.
4. Dari-Ripple in Belvidere offers S'mores ice cream as one of their rotating flavors, and according to one Yelp user it's pretty good, " 'smores' which is vanilla ice cream with small marshmallows, crumbled graham cracker and chocolate shavings. Damn good!"
