Weddings bells typically ring in June, but it looks like those bells break in August.

Everyone used to talk about "wedding season." It started at the end of May and lasted through the end of the summer, then a few years ago it kind of moved.

Fall weddings became increasingly popular, extending "wedding season" through the end of October. Now, you can pretty much guarantee you'll be invited to a wedding every month of the year. Maybe less often in January, but only maybe.

Divorce season though, turns out that's the new trendy thing.

According to an article from Cosmo, there are two months of the year when divorce is most likely, August and March.

The research was done by the University of Washington and is based on "domestic ritual," and, no surprise here, holidays.

You don't see a lot of couples deciding to get divorced in November and December, is there even time to discuss that? Nope. So they wait until all of the finances from the holidays are back to normal and call it quits in March, or until right before your kids go back to school in August.

The more you know.
